We are excited to share our plans for the 2022 VALORANT EMEA esports in this article, including VCT, VCT Game Changers EMEA, VRLs, and VRCs.
In 2022, we aim to make VALORANT the biggest FPS esport in the world. The performances we have seen from EMEA so far indicate that the region is truly emerging as a powerhouse.
Following a legendary inaugural year, 2022 will see a series of significant and exciting developments in VALORANT esports in EMEA.
By building a new, multi-layered ecosystem, we will be able to provide opportunities for all players. Amateur and aspiring professional players will compete in the newly created VALORANT Regional Leagues and VALORANT Regional Circuits. The Game Changers program will empower women in VALORANT esports, providing them with opportunities, and the VALORANT Champions Tour will showcase the truly elite VALORANT stars.
Most importantly, the expansion of the EMEA ecosystem will provide more opportunities for dedicated players to support their countries, local teams, and favorite players, and witness the best in the region rise to the top.
VALORANT CHAMPIONS TOUR
The VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) is the pinnacle of FPS esports in EMEA, and the 2021 season provided incredible and unforgettable moments for both teams and the community. Particularly, the top four teams in EMEA (Acend, Gambit, Fnatic, and Team Liquid) battled hard to make their mark in the first VCT Champions tournament! In 2022, the structure of EMEA VCT will be adjusted to accommodate the entire region, allowing for growth and healthy competition among all local regions.
The top four EMEA teams from VALORANT Champions 2021 will be invited to the 2022 VCT Stage I. The remaining eight spots will be determined through two separate qualifiers specific to regions. Four spots are allocated for Europe, two for Turkey, and two for the CIS. Teams will join VCT Stage II through VCT Promotion Tournaments. The winners of the eight VRLs (more on this later) from Stage I will compete for the remaining two spots with the bottom two VCT teams.
Additionally, more information will be shared regarding the overall VCT format at the beginning of 2022.
Get ready to cheer for the most elite competitors in VALORANT esports as they aim not only to win the title of the best in EMEA but also to achieve global dominance.
VALORANT REGIONAL LEAGUES (VRLs)
One of the exciting new layers in our VALORANT EMEA esports ecosystem is the VALORANT Regional Leagues (VRLs).
VRLs will be the pinnacle of regional VALORANT esports, offering a highly competitive environment with a national flavor while showcasing emerging talent in the region.
In 2022, we will organize eight new EMEA VRLs:
Spain (Players from Portugal and Italy can also participate)
Organized by: LVP
France (Players from Benelux can also participate)

These leagues will be organized by collaborating organizers. The season will consist of two stages: a regular season and playoffs to determine the league champion. Some of the teams participating in the tournament will be determined through VRL qualifiers held at least once during the season. At the end of Stage I, VRL winners will qualify to compete in the VCT Promotion Tournament. In Stage II, VRL winners will compete in the VRL EMEA final.
The new VRL tournaments will not only provide highly skilled players with satisfying competitive experiences but also offer them a rare opportunity to develop their skills within a structured ecosystem that fosters healthy and high-level competition.
Additionally, VRLs will give enthusiastic VALORANT fans the chance to celebrate and have fun while watching local teams compete against other teams in EMEA.
The 2022 VRL season will kick off with qualifiers on January 24th and the first split will begin in the week of February 14th.
Stay tuned and support your local teams as they compete to become national champions!
GAME CHANGERS EMEA
We have had an incredible year with the Game Changers initiative worldwide. Teams have proven that they are here to fight (#HERETOSLAY). Now, it's time to show that VCT Game Changers EMEA is here to stay!
In 2022, we will host three exciting VCT Game Changers EMEA tournaments. The first will be in January, followed by the others in May and September. Teams that perform well in these events will earn the opportunity to participate in the Global Game Changers tournament planned for October.
Additionally, we are launching the Game Changers EMEA Academy program. Here, new teams and friends will compete in up to six tournaments throughout the year. We are excited to see new faces add color to our Game Changers tournaments. Be bold and claim what's yours!
Game Changers is an important platform for women to progress on the path to professionalism. To allow teams to aim even higher, we will run the VCT Game Changers EMEA 2022 stage parallel to this tournament. We will make every effort to avoid scheduling conflicts between these tournaments within the broader EMEA ecosystem, allowing teams to compete in both Game Changers tournaments and VRL and VCT qualifiers.
Game Changers community, your time has come. It's your platform. The world is listening! Show us what you've got.
VALORANT REGIONAL CIRCUITS (VRCs)
In 2022, we aim to sow the seeds of VALORANT talent across the entire region and help nurture its growth. With this goal in mind, we are introducing a new tournament series called VALORANT Regional Circuits (VRCs), especially for these players.
We hope that these tournaments will elevate the burgeoning amateur competitive ecosystem in EMEA. They will provide players of all skill levels with the excitement of competing in an organized tournament and the opportunity to showcase themselves against competitors in their regions.
This tournament will allow local players to participate in solo competitions and earn tour points for their teams throughout the season. At the end of the season, teams with the most points will compete to become the regional tournament champions.
Throughout the coming year, players in EMEA will see these VRC tournaments being organized, and over time, there will be a VRC available for players from all regions in EMEA to participate in.
Live Streaming and Viewership
In 2022, we are significantly increasing the number of VALORANT esports tournaments broadcasted, especially in the EMEA region. Viewers will be able to follow us and watch numerous VALORANT esports tournaments. These tournaments include:
VCT Qualifiers
VCT Stage I and II
VCT Masters I and II
VCT Promotion Tournament
EMEA Last Chance Qualifier
VCT Champions 2022
Three EMEA Game Changers Tournaments
Eight VALORANT Regional Leagues
We will broadcast all VCT events in a minimum of eight languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Polish, and Arabic. As the event dates approach, we will continue to share additional languages with the community.
We will continue to work diligently to develop this blossoming esport and reach a wider audience. We hope that this new format will provide a clear picture to viewers and players of how VALORANT esports in EMEA will unfold in the coming year. Through this new ecosystem, we believe that deeper interactions will be fostered between teams and players, determining the future of VALORANT and creating a long-term audience base.
